Howell Kumon Books in the Garden Series - the Kumon Math and Reading Center is offering a series of reading events free to local students. at the Calgo Gardens; schedule dates:
August 17th—9:30 a.m. (young readers) & 10:00 a.m. (advanced readers) Books that are Movie. Games, book discussion, and movie ticket giveaway.
Location:  Calgo Gardens, 462 Adelphia Road, Freehold, NJ 07728   (across from Howell Memorial Middle School)

Scholastic - special sections for kids and parents; log minutes reading for prizes
NJ Libraries - check your local library for their book clubs for kids, teens and adults
Journey Forth Summer Reading - for kids 4 to 17 (broken into 3 age groups); prize drawings - grand prize is a Kindle - for readers until August 31, 2011
Borders Reading Challenge- kids under 12 read any 10 books, fill out a worksheet listing the books and bring that worksheet to Borders between until September 5 and get a free book;NOTE: CHECK WITH YOUR LOCAL BORDERS, SOME ARE NO LONGER DOING THIS PROMOTION
Barnes & Noble Summer Reading - kids read any 8 books to get a free book; download activity kit to track books
Chuck E Cheese - complete a reading rewards calendar and receive 10 free tokens (exp 12/31/11)
Pottery Barn Reading Challenge - kids complete one of their reading lists for a free book
PBS Reading Challenge - A daily email with fun activities to build reading skills; a chance to win prizes daily, book suggestions for all ages & more
